Montblanc launched special timepiece and stationery for Malaysia

To mark Malaysia’s 60th year of independence, Montblanc has launched a very special timepiece. It pays homage to the country’s vibrant cultural tapestry and heritage.

The 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim Malaysia 60 Edition is coded with meaning and emotion. It is limited to six very exclusive numbered pieces – one to represent each decade.

The dial shows off a miniature map of Malaysia. This is said to be unique, as each illustration is painstakingly hand-painted and differs very slightly from one watch to another. A closer look reveals a number of subtle design details, including a thin bezel with satin finishing on the border and horns that, while straight from above, are slightly curved on the underside.

The 42mm watch also features the Calibre MB 29.24 – powered for the very first time by a micro-rotor decorated with a “cotes de geneve en eventail” pattern that reveals an undisturbed view on the back.

Montblanc is also revisiting Malaysia’s heritage through an assortment of fine stationery.

On the inside cover of each notebook is an artistic tribute to highly recognisable icons of Malaysia.

Montblanc’s Merdeka notebooks are available in red, blue and yellow in limited quantities of 248 per colour. This figure is derived from multiplying the numbers 31 (date of Malaysia’s independence) and eight (month of August).
